Types of comparisons
Oculon offers two main ways to compare your data:- Time Compare: Analyze your data across different periods, such as current month vs. previous month.
- Scenario Compare: Compare different versions of your data, such as your “Base Case” vs. an “Aggressive Growth” scenario.
Key features
- Dynamic Variances: Automatically calculate absolute and percentage variances between comparison points.
- Multi-period/Scenario Support: Compare your current view with one or more other periods or scenarios simultaneously.
- Consistent Visuals: Comparisons work seamlessly across models and boards, maintaining a consistent experience.
Why use comparisons
In FP&A, data is most valuable when viewed in context. Comparisons allow you to:- Identify Trends: See if performance is improving or declining over time.
- Manage Risk: Evaluate the potential impact of different scenarios.
- Explain Variances: Quickly pinpoint the cause of differences between expected and actual results.
