Start with two layers
Space and governance controls decide who can discover or manage a shared area. Item-level permissions decide what a person can do on a specific model, board, page, or view. That means two people can sit in the same workspace or teamspace but still have different access to the exact same planning asset.Use one item-level access model
Oculon item access is easiest to understand when you use three levels:How this applies to models
View: Open the model and review visible data.Edit: Change inputs and create draft changes.Full access: Publish structural changes, manage formulas and relationships, move the model into a teamspace, and manage access.
How this applies to boards and pages
View: Open the board or page and use what is already exposed.Edit: Change layout, blocks, and local filters, and share the board or page directly with people or groups.Full access: Manage permission settings and link sharing, align dependency access, and publish or move the item into a teamspace.
Sharing basics.
How this applies to views
View: Open the saved slice and review the data already exposed through that view.Edit: Work within the visible slice when editing is allowed.Full access: Change the saved view definition and manage view sharing.
Sharing views.
Keep governance and access aligned
Clear ownership still matters. Keep the number of people withFull access small, prefer group-based sharing where it fits, and review inherited access whenever content moves between shared areas.
